Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: BMC Commissioner Rajesh Prabhakar Patil has issued a warning Saturday to the chicken sellers in the city following the rise in cases of bird flu in the state, especially the nearby places of the Capital City.

"Strict action will be taken if anyone sells chickens from the bird flu affected areas," said Patil, adding that BMC is "keeping an eye" on the chicken centres and hotels.

"BMC has ordered all the chicken centres and hotels to thoroughly check the details of their stock of chicken -- from where the stock is coming or which farm the stock belongs to, etc," he added.
