Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Ahead of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha, Arabinda Mohapatra, the son of veteran politician Bijoy Mohapatra joined BJD on Thursday. 

Arabinda, an engineer was associated with Biju Parivar as a youth leader. 

Speaking on the occasion Arabinda said," I have joined BJD because during 2019, when I was interacting with the people of Patkura (Kendrapara), I realised I needed a platform to work for the progress of the people of Patkura. Before taking this decision I had spoken to the residents here and discussed with my father."

"I want to thank Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik and 5T Chairman for giving me this opportunity to work for Kendrapara and Patkura residents. I will discharge whatever duty I am entrusted with to the best of my capacity," he added.
