Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: In a major jolt to Odisha Congress, senior leader Bijay Patnaik resigned from the prime membership of the Congress.
Patnaik, a former Chief Secretary of Odisha, has sent his resignation letter to the president of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
"Respected Sir, I hereby tender my resignation from INC. Hope you will be pleased to accept it with immediate effect," the e-mail sent to the AICC read.

✨Patnaik said he quit the party as he didn't find any place and dingnity in the party.
"I had joined the Congress to get it as a platform to reach people. But now I feel I don't have any position in the party. Thus, I resigned from the party," Patnaik said, adding that he sent his resignation letter to the AICC president.
Patnaik, a retired IAS and former Chief Secretary of Odisha had joined the Congress two years back.
