Bhubaneswar, Jun 23: In a major relief for job aspirants, the Odisha government has announced a complete waiver of examination fees for various recruitment tests conducted by state-run agencies.

This includes exams held by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), and Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC).

The move is aimed at reducing the financial burden on candidates, especially those from economically weaker backgrounds, and encouraging wider participation in government recruitment processes. The decision is expected to benefit thousands of aspirants preparing for competitive exams across the state.

Officials stated that the waiver will apply to all future recruitment notifications issued by these commissions.

According to a official notification, "In inviting a reference on the subject cited above. I am directed to say that a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary on 04.03.2025 and it was decided that Recruitment fee for the recruitment examination may be introduced and the same may be refunded to the candidates who appear the examination in order to dissuade the non-serious candidates."

"It is therefore requested to furnish views on collection of examination fees and suggestions with regards to the procedure to be adopted for refund of the examination fees collected from the candidates latest by 24.06.2025 to this Department," the notification read.
