A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BDA and JLL was signed during the visit of the President of Singapore to Bhubaneswar, marking a significant step in international collaboration.

H&UD Dept. Principal Secretary Usha Padhee called the initiative a “landmark step” for Odisha, envisioning a city that reflects inclusivity, sustainability, and long-term stability for future generations. The project aims to enhance land value and attract international investment and recognition.

The New City is expected to serve as a model for urban transformation, integrating smart infrastructure, green spaces, and efficient public services. It will also complement the ₹8,307 crore Capital Region Ring Road project recently approved by the Union Cabinet, which will improve connectivity and support the planned growth of over 200,000 residents.

With global expertise and local vision converging, the Bhubaneswar New City Project is poised to redefine urban development in eastern India.
