Bhubaneswar, June 21: The 6th Odisha Tourism Conclave is set to take place on June 25, aiming to elevate State’s tourism sector to the global stage.


At a press conference here today, Milind Gupta, Secretary General of Hotel & Restaurant Association of Odisha (HARO), said the conclave will focus on strategies to develop tourist destinations and attract more visitors.


At the conclave, Gupta said, discussions will include infrastructure development, promotional initiatives, and proposals to transform Odisha into a 21-day tourist destination. Organizers plan to showcase 21 key locations across the state to boost tourism-driven economic growth.


The event will feature five sessions, including a technical session with participation from hotel and tour operator associations, skill development experts, and various stakeholders. Union Ministers, MPs, Deputy Chief Ministers of the State, and prominent figures from the tourism industry are expected to attend.

The conclave’s core objective is to position Odisha as a top tourist destination. Proposals for tourism development will be presented to the government, covering all aspects of the sector. With increased central budget support and active state government involvement, the conclave aims to expand Odisha’s tourism footprint.


Special focus will be given to improving road connectivity and infrastructure to attract more tourists to key destinations. The event also emphasizes promoting tourism beyond Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, highlighting regions like Western and Southern Odisha, alongside traditional hotspots such as Puri, Konark, and Chilika.


The development of temple tourism and lesser-known destinations will also be discussed, with the goal of making Odisha a vibrant and inclusive tourism hub, a member of HARO said.


Debashis Pattnaik, a senior member of HARO; Jonathan Raul, Vice Chairman of HARO and Tarini Prasad Mohanty were, among others, were present on the occasion.
