Bhubaneswar, Jun 12: Bhubaneswar has taken a significant step in enhancing international and domestic air connectivity with the launch of direct Indigo flights to Abu Dhabi and Visakhapatnam.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi flagged off the maiden flight from Biju Patnaik International Airport at 9:35 AM, marking a new chapter in the state's aviation history.

The Indigo 6E 1441 flight will take passengers directly from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi, reaching its destination at 12:35 PM. This addition makes Abu Dhabi the fifth international destination accessible from Bhubaneswar via direct flights. The return flight will depart from Abu Dhabi at 2:35 AM and arrive in Bhubaneswar by 8:35 AM.

Alongside the Abu Dhabi service, Bhubaneswar now offers direct connectivity to Visakhapatnam. Indigo flight 6E 6214 will depart Bhubaneswar at 12:35 PM and will land in Visakhapatnam at 1:55 PM. The return journey begins at 2:25 PM from Visakhapatnam and concludes in Bhubaneswar by 3:45 PM. These flights are expected to significantly boost business and tourism between these cities.

The introduction of direct flights between Bhubaneswar and Abu Dhabi holds great promise, particularly for travellers from Odisha seeking convenient access to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

With growing business ties and an increasing number of professionals traveling abroad, the new flight service is expected to cater to a rising demand for seamless international connectivity.
