Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: Police have arrested 14 crime accused, including five against smuggling of guns and nine against their involvement in various criminal activities, informed Commissionerate Police in a press conference here Wednesday.

Police have recovered five guns, 15 unused bullets, seven mobile phones and Rs 84,000 in cash from the crime accused.

As per the information shared by the police, they have arrested an infamous gang of gun smugglers. The arrested smugglers have been identified as Bhabani Prasad Mohanty, Sk Rahmat Ali, Md Zakir, Dipak Kumar Sahoo and Sangram Pradhan alias Chandan.

The accused have multiple cases registered against them in Khordha, Cuttack, Puri and Jagatsinghpur.

The Commissionerate Police has also said that it will write to the court to reject the bail pleas of the arrested accused.
