Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Gears Up To Combat Heatwave Conditions

Bhubaeswar, Mar 31: Keeping the extreme heatwave conditions in mind, the Bhubaneswar municipal Corporation has started its preparations to address all summer related problems. As many as ten temporary sheds have been set up in major regions across the city, as a part of this initiative. In addition, one permanent shed will be set up at AG Square and Studio Square. BMC is making arrangements across its 67 wards, to address the drinking water issues. Solar-powered water kiosks have also been installed, with fourteen fully operational kiosks.
Discussions have been held with WATCO to streamline water distribution. Additionally, BMC has assigned Self Help Groups (SHG) women with the responsibility of managing the “Jalachhatra” water stations. Special provisions have been made to ensure water is availability for stray cows and bulls.
