Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: In a major step toward digital governance, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the launch of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) new WhatsApp Bot service, designed to streamline civic engagement and service delivery for residents of the capital city.

The bot, accessible via WhatsApp number 7653011832, allows citizens to send a simple “Hi” message and instantly connect with over 20 municipal services. Users can interact in Odia, Hindi, or English, making the platform inclusive and accessible to a wide demographic.

The WhatsApp Bot offers a wide range of services, including:

One of the standout features is the integration of an AI-powered chat assistant, which helps users navigate services intuitively and receive personalized responses. Citizens can now resolve issues, access documents, and stay informed—all from their mobile phones.

The initiative aligns with the state’s broader vision of smart governance and citizen-centric service delivery. CM Majhi emphasized that the platform will empower residents to report issues and seek solutions without visiting municipal offices, reducing delays and improving transparency.

The WhatsApp Bot is part of BMC’s digital transformation strategy, which also includes smart mobility, e-ticketing, and integrated grievance redressal systems. Officials confirmed that the bot will continue to evolve, adding more services and expanding its reach across Bhubaneswar.

With this launch, Odisha takes a significant leap toward making urban governance more responsive, efficient, and tech-enabled.
