Bhubaneswar, Dec 21: The Commissionerate police here on Tuesday arrested a man and his wife on the charge of duping people of crores of rupees.

The couple has allegedly duped car customers of Rs 40 crore in the city. They were being interrogated at the Nayapalli police station by the time of filing of the story.

According to the police, the couple was running a car sale point named Maa Khanduapata Auto Mobiles where they used to promise sell new cars at 50 per cent  rebate. To win the trust of customers, they had even delivered brand new cars at the promised discounted rate.

Cheating cases have been filed against the couple at different police stations across the State. They had taken away over Rs 40 crore from people. Some policemen have also been cheated by the couple. Following an investigation, they have been arrested.
