Bhubaneswar, Aug 28: A seven-year-old baby elephant Mama died at Damapada Kumarakhunti Elephant Training Centre at Chandaka Wednesday.
According to the initial reports, the baby elephant’s death is suspected to be due to herpes. The exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report, said Sushant Nanda, PCCF.
Five elephants were being trained at Kumarakhunti Elephant Training Centre and Mama is the youngest elephant.
