Bhubaneswar, June 24: A special squad of police will take the duo of Ayaz Mahamad and Ayusman Tripathy, known as the 'Ayaz-Ayusman Gang', in a three-day remand.

Debasis Barik, Sibaprasad Barik and Rajat Kumar Nanda are also the part of the gang which was arrested Thursday.

The robbers had been enjoying their lives with their girlfriends. After robbing, they used to live a lavish life wearling branded dresses and shoes, riding vehicles worth more than a lakh and spending time in costly hotels. 

The Commissionerate Police has 24 registered cases against the duo. The city police is in touch with police departments from Bhadrak, Angul, Puri and Ganjam for more information.

More details about the receiver is likely to be found out during the remand. The police also took the goldsmith, who was buying the stolen chains, under the scanner.

The police has Thursday recovered 40 gold chains, cash worth Rs 2 lakhs and five mobiles from the accused.
