Bhadrak, Nov 24: People of the Bhandaripokari area are in a state of fear now as a wild male elephant has entered human habitations and is wandering in villages.

During the last two days, the tusker has eaten up and destroyed standing paddy plants on acres of land.

According to the information, people of villages are not only spending sleepless nights but also failing to go outside in the daytime as the wild jumbo is moving on nearby cultivable fields. Most of the time, they are staying indoors.

Meanwhile, the electricity department has disconnected the electricity supply to the area as the 11KV wires are hanging in dangerous conditions over the cultivable lands.
