During the probe, police uncovered a large mule account network operated from Bhadrak. Ordinary people were enticed with commissions to open accounts in their names, which were later handed over to foreign fraudsters.

The accused reportedly maintained contact with Chinese operators via Telegram, supplying accounts and receiving commissions in cryptocurrency.

Police seized three mobile phones, a laptop, and digital evidence including chats with foreign handlers. Four others had already been arrested earlier in connection with the case.

Nayak has been produced in court, while investigations continue into other members of the network and their financial dealings.

Fake Job Scam

In a separate incident, Bhubaneswar police are probing another fraud involving fake job offers. Ganesh Nayak allegedly duped several people by promising jobs at Utkal University, including technical posts and campus quarters, collecting lakhs of rupees before absconding.

Allegations also suggest links between Ganesh and a section officer at the university. Victims have lodged complaints, prompting Nayapalli police to begin investigations. Authorities are examining whether more individuals are involved in the racket.
