Bhadrak, Aug 28: In a major crackdown on illegal liquor transportation, Bhadrak Town Police seized 200 litres of country-made liquor along with an Indigo car allegedly used for smuggling.

 

The operation was carried out early Thursday morning following a tip-off from a confidential source.

 

According to police reports, the liquor was being transported from Keonjhar district to Bhadrak in a speeding Indigo car. Acting swiftly, the Town Police set up a strategic checkpoint near Motal Chhak. Upon spotting the suspicious vehicle, officers pursued it. The driver, sensing danger, abandoned the car near the intersection and fled the scene.

Upon inspection, the police discovered 200 litres of country liquor concealed inside the vehicle. The car was immediately impounded, and the liquor was seized.
