Balasore, Mar 30: Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee died on Sunday after an accidental drowning at Talsari Beach in Odisha's Balasore district. He was 43.
The actor had travelled to the coastal location for the shooting of a Bengali television serial titled 'Bhole Baba Par Karega'. According to preliminary reports, filming continued smoothly through the day, but the incident occurred shortly after the crew wrapped up in the afternoon.

Our source from the ground said Banerjee entered the sea alone after pack-up. When he did not return, members of the production team raised an alarm after losing sight of him in the water. Crew members rushed to his aid and managed to pull him out before arranging immediate medical assistance.
He was taken to a nearby hospital in Digha, where doctors declared him dead at around 6:10 pm. Initial findings point to drowning as the cause of death, though further formalities were underway.
Banerjee is survived by his wife, actor Priyanka Sarkar, and their son.
