Bhubaneswar, Sep 1: In a major step toward streamlining commercial operations at the newly developed Baramunda Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Bhubaneswar, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has announced that 120 shops will be allotted to vendors through a lottery system within the next 10 days.
This move comes after prolonged uncertainty and internal disputes among shopkeepers regarding allocation. The lottery-based allotment has now resolved those concerns, ensuring transparency and fairness. Priority will be given to vendors who previously operated at the old bus stand.
The selection process has already been completed, and the BDA has confirmed that the commercial space at the terminal spans nearly 1 lakh square metres. To develop this space, an agency has been appointed at a rate of ₹52 per square metre, and a work order will be issued shortly.
