Baramba, Jan 18: Narasinghpur Block Engineer Ajay Samal was found dead and police suspects it as a suicide after initial investigation.

Narasinghpur Police have recovered the hanging body Saturday morning from Block Colony. Plice have already initiated an investigation into the matter.

Expressing his shock over Samal's death, JE Vinay Sahoo told mediapersons that Samal was under a lot of mental stress after complaint letter was submitted before the district Collector over MGNRGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) works in Sagar panchayat.

Keeping this statement in mind, police suspects that Samal's death might be a case of suicide. However, the police said that it is just a suspicion and real reason can only be said after investigation.

The deceased was in charge of three panchayats -- Sagar, Alara and Kanjiapada -- under the Narasinghpur block.

Various government authorities, including block administration officials and Tehsildar, arrived there as soon as they found out about Samal's passing.

Baramba MLA Bijaya Kumar Dalabehera also arrived after the getting the news. He also asked the Police to conduct more investigation into the case.

The deceased was a native of Sanabarsingh village in Baramba. He was working in Narasinghpur block for three years.

The actual reason of death is yet to be ascertained and anything can be said only after getting the report from scientific team.
