Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: Following the tragic incident in Baragarh that has sent shockwaves throughout the state, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan addressed the media, emphasizing that the government is treating the matter with utmost seriousness.

Notably, a minor girl had sustained severe burn injuries after allegedly setting herself ablaze near a football field at Firingmal village under Gaisilet police station limits. She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

According to reports, the girl, currently staying at her maternal uncle’s house, poured petrol on herself and set herself ablaze. She was immediately rescued and rushed to the district headquarters hospital in critical condition. Later, the victim was shifted to Burla, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The Odisha Law Minister has assured that necessary steps have already been initiated to investigate. “The government is not taking this lightly.
