Balasore, Apr 7: As many as three persons were injured critically as a pick-up van fell into a gorge after hitting RMC mobile check-post near Rajghat on National Highway - 60 under Basta police station in Balasore district today morning. 

According to the information, a paper-laden pick-up van en route West Bengal from Balasore lost its balance on the way, hit the check-post, and later fell into 30-feet gorge.

The injured persons were first taken to the Basta Hospital and after their health condition deteriorated, they were shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for further treatment. 

On being informed, the Basta police and National Highway patrolling van reached the spot and rescued all injured persons. 

However, the driver of the pick-up van has been nabbed by the police, and an investigation into the matter is on.
