Balasore, Aug 12: A heartbreaking incident has shaken Guhalipada village under Singla police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district, where a Class 8 student allegedly died by suicide after a dispute over mobile phone usage and online gaming.
The deceased was reportedly addicted to online games and spent excessive time on his mobile phone, neglecting his studies. On Monday morning, his mother scolded him for playing games instead of attending school, and reportedly barred him from using the phone.
Shortly after, the boy locked himself inside the bathroom and allegedly took his own life by hanging with a towel. Family members discovered him and alerted the police immediately.
