Balangir, Aug 14: Headmistress of Titrapada Government Primary School under Saintala block, has been suspended following allegations of physically assaulting a Class II student.

The incident came to light after the child’s parents lodged formal complaints with the Saintala police station, the Superintendent of Police, and the District Collector of Balangir.

Based on the complaint, an inquiry was initiated and subsequently, the Headmistress, Hemanjali Hota, was suspended.

According to the complaint, the headmistress had allegedly beat the young boy during school hours, prompting outrage among parents and local residents.

The district education authorities have confirmed the suspension and stated that further investigation is underway.
