Puri, Jul 22: The investigation into the horrific incident in Balanga, Puri—where a minor girl was allegedly set ablaze—has entered its fourth day.

Over the past four days, police have interrogated more than 50 individuals, including the victim’s close friends, family members, and eyewitnesses.

Intelligence officers and Crime Branch personnel have joined the probe.

Senior officials have been visiting both the crime scene and the victim’s residence to gather further insights.

Conflicting statements from family members and witnesses have added complexity to the investigation, leaving police grappling with multiple angles.

The victim, who suffered 75% burns, is currently receiving treatment at AIIMS Delhi, after being airlifted from Bhubaneswar. Her condition remains critical, and her testimony is considered vital to cracking the case.
