Ayushman Bharat To Be Launched In Odisha Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar, Apr 10: Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will be implemented in Odisha from April 11. The state-level function will be held at the Baliayatra ground in Cuttack.


Union Health Minister J P Nadda will inaugurate the event. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Prime Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling will be present.

After the inauguration of the scheme, free health services will be provided to 3.5 crore people in the State. The Health cards will be distributed at 1405 primary health centres on the day of the launch. Ministers from various departments will be present on the occasion. Ministers will grace the ching in 13 districts. Ministers Suresh Pujari in Nayagarh, Krishna Chandra Mohapatra in Dhenkanal, Rabi Narayan Naik in Nabarangpur, and Gokulananda Mallick in Kendrapara will be present at the launch.


"As many as 3.5 crore people of the state will get Ayushman cards. So, 1.3 crore families will be covered under the scheme. While one card was given to each family during the previous government, now one card will be given to each member of the family. Earlier, only 900 hospitals were providing free treatment, now more than 29,000 hospitals in the country will be able to provide free treatment," said Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.
