Ayushman Bharat In Odisha From April 11, Treatment In 29K Hospitals Across Country

Bhubaneswar, Apr 5: The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) will be launched in Odisha on April 11.


Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Health Minister JP Nadda and three other Union Ministers will be present on the occasion. People will be made aware of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. For this, the awareness chariot will run for seven days.


Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said that the new health card will be available to everyone within two months.


The launching ceremony will be at Baliyatra Ground in Cuttack. As many as 1.3 lakh households in the state will be covered under the scheme. Any person above the age of 7 will be issued a Vayu Vandana card. Retired government employees will also get the card. Each member of the family will receive a card. The state will get 3 crore 50 lakh cards.

This card will work in 29,000 hospitals in the country. It will work in all states except West Bengal. Now cards will be distributed in 1405 PHCs. Treatment costs up to Rs 5 lakh per annum for men and Rs 10 lakh for women will be provided free of cost. Under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY-GJ A.Y) and Ayushman Vaya Vandana Yojana (AVVY), each member of the family will get one card.


Earlier, only 900 empanelled hospitals in 16 states were providing free treatment. Now all the beneficiaries of the combined scheme will get free treatment in 29,000 empanelled private and government hospitals across the country.
