Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: Odia film producer Sanjay Nayak, aka Tutu Nayak, on Saturday appeared before Kharvelnagar Police Station in Bhubaneswar in connection with 'assault' on a woman journalist.
The film producer allegedly slapped journalist Debasmita Rout, a reporter at electronics media, yesterday when she was reporting near Sriya-Swati cinema halls in the city.
Later, the woman journalist lodged a complaint against Tutu Nayak at the Kharvelnagar Police Station, Bhubaneswar in this regard.
The incident sparked a widespread outrage among people, and multiple FIRs were lodged at different police stations in Odisha, particularly in western parts of the state, against the film producer.'

✨Earlier in the day, members of Odisha Women in Media (OWM) called on Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh and submitted a memorandum demanding a fair probe in this connection.
In June this year, actress Prakruti Mishra levelled serious allegations of casting couch against film producer Tutu Nayak.
