Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: In what indicates BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik getting sacred of possible party fragility, the former Chief Minister today asked Champua BJD MLA Sanatan Mahakud if he was switching to the BJP.
Naveen, the former Chief Minister and current Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik looked very upset when he saw Sanatan Mahakud at the entry point of the State Assembly. BJD MLAs were waiting there to welcome Naveen to the Assembly's Budget Session that started today.
"Why didn't you attend the BJD Legislature Party meeting yesterday," Naveen asked Mahakud, who was standing with other MLAs at the entry gate.
"I was not well so I didn't come," answered Mahakud quietly. "Are you with the BJP," a seemingly upset Naveen questioned Mahakud without listening to Mahakud's answer.

✨The incident of Naveen questioning Mahakud has fueled discussions that Naveen is unsure of BJD MLAs' party affinity.
"Naveen looked angry when he turned his face to Mahakud and asked why he didn't attend the BJD Legislature Party meeting. Naveen again sarcastically asked Mahakud if he was with the BJP. It all indicates that he has lost confidence in Mahakud," said a political analyst.
Makakud could be one in the rice port of Naveen's loss of confidence in the BJD MLAs, suspected the analyst.
BJD MLAs have been seen to hold meetings in groups at different places in recent months. More than 20 BJD MLAS reportedly held a secret meeting at Khorda yesterday.
