Archana Nag Evicted: ED Seals Luxury Bungalow in Sextortion Probe

Key Points
Archana Nag vacates ₹3.64 crore bungalow as ED seals property under PMLA.
ED previously raided the house, seizing luxury vehicles and documents.
Investigation involves over 15 high-profile individuals.
Bhubaneswar, Sep 12: In a significant development in the ongoing sextortion and money laundering investigation, Archana Nag, the prime accused, has vacated her Bhubaneswar residence following Enforcement Directorate (ED) action.
The ED arrived on Friday to seal the property after Nag failed to comply with an earlier notice to vacate the premises.
The house, valued at ₹3.64 crore, had been provisionally attached by the ED in January 2023 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Despite repeated notices, Nag had continued to occupy the property, prompting the agency to initiate sealing procedures. A formal notice was pasted outside the bungalow, declaring the property sealed under PMLA provisions.
This move follows a series of actions by the ED, including a high-profile raid in November 2022 at Nag’s lavish residence, during which luxury vehicles and incriminating documents were seized.

The investigation revealed that Nag, along with her husband Jagabandhu Chand and associates, allegedly extorted money from influential individuals by honey-trapping them and threatening to release compromising material.
The ED has interrogated over 15 individuals, including politicians, film producers, and businessmen, in connection with the case.
The sealing of the property marks a critical step in the
ED’s crackdown on assets acquired through illicit means.
