Puri, Mar 13: Keeping the comfort of visiting devotees and pilgrims in mind, an Annakshetra will be established outside the Uttara Dwara (Northern Gate) of Puri Shreemandir, said Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deba.
Citing the necessity of such decision, the Puri Gajapati Maharaja said that the devotees often face challenges to have Mahaprasad at one place in Ananda Bazar. Considering the issue, an Annakshetra – a community space to eat Mahaprasad together – will be constructed in a large open area.
Notably, Gajapati Maharaja has reviewed the Shreemandir Parikrama Project. “The project is not fully completed with some work still pending,” stated Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deba. He, however, assured that the progress will be monitored.
Gajapati Maharaja about other development projects
He said that the proposals for the establishment of the Shree Jagannath Cultural Center and the Raghunandan Library have been approved. “Discussions will take place with the management committee, and work will begin accordingly,” stated the Puri Gajapati Maharaja.
In addition, a permanent office for the Shreemandir will also be established, and the existing one will be converted into a reception hall.
He revealed that some plans to promote Shree Jagannath culture have already been implemented, and additional initiatives are being planned.
Gajapati Maharaja also mentioned that a focused goal has been set for the improvement of the Shree Gundicha Temple.
