Paradip, Nov 11: The vibrant seven-day Kalinga Baliyatra 2025 here came to a spectacular close on Monday, drawing thousands of visitors to the coastal town.
The concluding evening was graced by Odisha Governor Hari
Babu Kambhampati, who attended as the chief guest alongside Industries Minister
Sampad Swain and Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai.

“This grand festival not only preserves the rich heritage and traditions of Utkal but also vividly reflects the art, culture, and customs of the Odia community,” he wrote further.

In his address, the Governor described Baliyatra not merely as a festival but as the heartbeat of Odisha’s cultural and maritime heritage. He emphasized its role in reviving the state’s ancient trade traditions and celebrating Odia identity.
The fair, which began on November 4 with an inauguration by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, transformed the Paradip seafront into a bustling marketplace. Traders from across regions set up stalls offering a wide range of goods, while families enjoyed street food and cultural performances.
The final evening saw a mesmerizing performance by Bollywood playback singer Ankit Tiwari, whose hit songs had the crowd swaying and singing along. Each evening of the Baliyatra featured musical acts by renowned Ollywood artists, adding to the festive spirit.
The event was marked by peaceful participation, vibrant
commerce, and cultural pride. Organizers hailed the Baliyatra as a resounding
success, reinforcing Paradip’s place as a cultural hub and a symbol of Odisha’s
maritime legacy.
