Mayurbhanj, Sept 4: In a rare and serious administrative action, the District Social Welfare Department has terminated an Anganwadi worker from Debanabahali-2 under Kaptipada block for allegedly manipulating her birth date across multiple official documents to secure employment.

The worker, identified as Sumi Singh Samburai, was appointed in 2022. However, discrepancies in her birth records triggered an internal investigation. Authorities discovered that her birth year varied across documents: 1995 in Anganwadi records, 1999 in her school certificate, and 2000 in her high school certificate.

Officials stated that the inconsistencies amounted to deliberate misrepresentation, violating recruitment norms. Following the probe, the department issued an official dismissal order, citing fraudulent documentation.
