Bhubaneswar, Jul 1: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will undertake a three-day visit to Odisha from July 3 to 5, during which he will inaugurate Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (BPCL) ₹1,775-crore second-generation (2G) ethanol plant in Bargarh district and launch several development projects.
According to official sources, Shah will arrive in Jharsuguda on Friday night and travel to Baulsingha in Bargarh district the following day. On Saturday, he will inaugurate the BPCL ethanol plant and address a public meeting around 11.50 am before proceeding to Sambalpur.
His itinerary includes a visit to the Maa Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur, followed by the foundation stone laying and inauguration of multiple development projects at Remed Ground. On Sunday, Shah will attend the revival ceremony of the Badamba Sugar Mill in Cuttack.
The Home Minister will also participate in the President’s Colours Presentation Ceremony of the Odisha Police at the 7th OSAP Battalion in Bhubaneswar, underscoring the Centre’s focus on strengthening law and order.

✨Officials said the high-profile visit is expected to highlight industrial growth, rural development, clean energy, heritage preservation, and policing reforms. Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack.
The ethanol plant, built with an investment of ₹1,775 crore, is expected to boost clean energy production and support farmers by utilising agricultural residue. Shah’s visit is seen as a significant push towards industrial expansion and sustainable development in Odisha.
