Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Odisha for two days from March 5, during which he will attend several government programmes, including a CISF event, officials said on Friday.
According to official sources, Shah will reach Bhubaneswar
on the evening of March 5 by a special Indian Air Force aircraft from New
Delhi.
On March 6, the Minister
will attend the CISF Foundation Day programme at Mundali in Cuttack district.
The state administration has directed extensive preparations for the event,
including road black-topping, street lighting, sanitation, and beautification
works along the route from Godisahi to Mundali. Security arrangements, traffic
management, and logistical planning have also been reviewed in detail.
Later in the day, Shah is scheduled to visit Jatni in Khurda
district to lay the foundation stone for the Bhubaneswar campuses of the
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science
Laboratory (CFSL). He will also virtually inaugurate the NFSU Transit Campus in
Bhubaneswar. These institutions are expected to strengthen forensic science
education and research in the region, while also supporting national efforts in
criminal justice reforms.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister will inaugurate the
‘Naveen Nyaya Sanhita’ exhibition at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.
The exhibition will highlight the new criminal laws recently introduced in the
country, aiming to create awareness and promote understanding of the legal
changes among citizens. Shah is also slated to lay foundation stones and
inaugurate several projects related to the Cooperation Department and other
state departments during his visit.

Meanwhile, a high-level preparatory meeting chaired by Chief
Secretary Anu Garg was held to review the Union Minister’s itinerary and ensure
smooth conduct of the programmes.
Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma briefed the meeting
on the measures being undertaken by the state government. Officials have been
directed to maintain close coordination across departments and complete all
arrangements within the stipulated timeline.
