Sundargarh, Jun 22: An emergency vehicle returning from Sanindipur to Koida hospital was stranded for nearly three hours at Teherai Chhak due to the deplorable condition of the road.

According to reports, the vehicle became stuck in deep mud, and despite repeated efforts by locals and mine security personnel to push it free, all attempts failed. Eventually, a machine from a nearby mine was brought in, and the ambulance was pulled out using chains after hours of struggle.

The incident has reignited public outrage over the crumbling infrastructure in Koida.

Residents from areas like Kalma, Mithirta, Sanindipur, and Adaghat continue to suffer on roads described as “death traps.” The Teherai–Kalmanga–Rugudi route, considered the lifeline of the mining belt, has been the subject of repeated demands for reconstruction, but authorities have yet to act.
