All Tests For HMPV Found Negative In Odisha, No Reason To Panic, Says Public Health Director

Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), which has recently spread widely across China and a few cases of which have been reported in India, has not been detected in Odisha.
"As of now, all the HMPV virus tests from the state have been found negative. There is no need to panic," said Public Health Director Dr Neelkanth Mishra.
He said HMPV symptoms are similar to those of the common cold. HMPV infection usually occurs in this season, he said.
