Puri, May 29: Akash Ambani, the elder son of Mukesh Ambani and chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, visited the revered Jagannath Temple in Puri late Wednesday night to seek blessings from Lord Jagannath.

His arrival at the temple was met with a warm welcome from the temple administration and police officials, ensuring tight security throughout his visit.

Upon reaching the Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate) police station, Akash Ambani was escorted inside the temple by his designated priest, Jagannath Kar. He offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, along with the sibling deities Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. Witnesses reported that he expressed immense joy after the darshan.

Due to the ongoing Banakalagi Niti, a sacred ritual where the deity’s face is adorned, Akash Ambani had the opportunity to witness the beautifully decorated form of Lord Jagannath during the evening Sandhya Dhupa ritual. He spent approximately 30 minutes inside the temple, dedicating around 15 minutes solely to Lord Jagannath’s darshan.

As a token of divine blessings, the temple administration presented Akash Ambani with a traditional Khandaua cloth, while his priest also gifted him a miniature idol of Lord Jagannath. Before departing, Akash Ambani humbly touched his priest’s feet to seek blessings.

Additionally, Akash Ambani made a generous donation to the temple through Reliance Foundation. The temple administration is expected to disclose the details of this contribution to the media soon.
