The event paid homage to the visionary leader, who was also the founder of AIIMS Bhubaneswar. In his address, AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas expressed profound respect for Vajpayee's contributions in establishing the health institution. Dr Biswas emphasised the transformative impact of Vajpayee's vision on healthcare accessibility and quality.
A commemorative meeting was held on the AIIMS Bhubaneswar campus. Dean (Exam) Dr Soubhagya Kumar Jena, MS Dr. Dillip Kumar Parida, Deputy Director (Administration) Abhijeet Sarkar, SAO Rasmi Ranjan Sethy, and Dr. Ashok Kumar Jena, along with faculty members, students, and staff attended the event.

✨As a mark of respect, floral tributes were offered at the statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, installed on the campus to honour his foundational role in AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The foundation stone of the institute was laid by Vajpayee on 15 July 2003. AIIMS Bhubaneswar is noteworthy as the second AIIMS established in the country and the only one inaugurated by the former Prime Minister himself.
The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of Vajpayee's enduring contributions to India’s healthcare system and governance. AIIMS Bhubaneswar remains a testament to his vision of equitable and accessible healthcare for all.
