Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: AIIMS Bhubaneswar reinforced its commitment to transparency, ethical values, and good governance by organizing a Grama Sabha in a periphery village as part of Vigilance Awareness Week, officials said on Wednesday.
The initiative aimed to spread awareness among employees, students, and the community about integrity in public life, while highlighting the institute’s dedication to ethical conduct alongside its core responsibility of delivering quality healthcare.
Week-Long Activities
The observance featured diverse programmes including a Walkathon, Capacity Building Programme for newly joined employees, outreach activities through Grama Sabha, and training sessions for students. These events were designed to instill vigilance and honesty as integral aspects of daily life.

✨Integrity Pledge and Leadership Presence
The week commenced with the Integrity Pledge Ceremony,
attended by Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director, Dr. Dillip Kumar Parida,
Medical Superintendent, Dr. Satyajeet Mishra, Dean (Research), Dr. Manoj Kumar
Mohanty, Chief Vigilance Officer, along with faculty and staff. Their
participation underscored the institute’s collective resolve to uphold
transparency and accountability.

Valedictory Ceremony
The week concluded with a sensitization talk and valedictory ceremony graced by Soumendra Priyadarshi, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Modernisation), Odisha. Delivering the keynote address as Chief Guest, he emphasized the importance of ethical conduct, vigilance mechanisms, and practical measures to strengthen transparency in public institutions. His message inspired participants to uphold integrity in both personal and professional spheres.
Awards and Recognition
An awards ceremony celebrated winners of the Quiz Competition and Poster Design Competition, recognizing their creativity and commitment to promoting vigilance awareness. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Padmalochan Swain, Assistant Engineer (Civil), Vigilance Cell, who expressed gratitude to dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their active support.
