Kendrapara, May 23: A married woman alleged that she was blackmailed by a male friend who threatened to make her photos and videos viral if she refused to maintain a physical relationship with him, a source said Saturday.

The incident was reported from the Patkura police station limits in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.

According to the complaint, the woman had been living at her parental home for several years after being separated from her husband. She was working at a private establishment in Cuttack district to support herself and her 10-year-old son.

During this period, she reportedly came in contact with a youth called Deepak through social media. The acquaintance later developed into a friendship.

The woman alleged that Deepak later tried to force her into a physical relationship by taking advantage of her vulnerable situation. When she refused, he allegedly edited their photos and videos in an obscene manner and circulated them online.
