Meanwhile, the University Grants Commission has sent a four-member fact-finding team to investigate the incident. The team led by former IGNOU Head Prof. Nageswar Rao has reportedly been asked to submit its report to the commission in 10 days.

Notably, Prisha is the second female student of KIIT University to commit suicide in just three months. On February 16, a 20-year-old girl student from Nepal ended her life by hanging.

Expressing deep concern, the National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary and the DGP, asking them to conduct an investigation and submit a report by May 9.
