Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: In a major jolt to Odisha's ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of 2024 general elections, Odia film actor and BJD's State General Secretary Arindam Roy resigned from the regional party on Friday.
Roy is also the brother-in-law of BJD’s Organisational Secretary and Jajpur MLA, Pranab Prakash Das.
The actor-turned politician sent his resignation letter to the BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

✨"With a heavy heart I am very sorry to say that my work has not yet been recognised by you or your appointed members. I have been trying to meet my leader, which is you, for quite some time, but unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to meet you," Roy wrote in his resignation letter.
Roy also requested the BJD supremo not to "keep any grudge" against him.
