Ollywood / Abhijit Majumdar Still in Coma, No Signs of Neurological Recovery

Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Renowned Odia music director and playback singer Abhijit Majumdar continues to remain in a coma, with no significant improvement in his neurological condition, according to the latest health bulletin released by AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Majumdar, who was admitted to AIIMS on September 4 after his health deteriorated due to a drop in sodium levels, had earlier shown signs of recovery. He was briefly moved out of ventilator support and treated in the ICU ward during Durga Puja. However, his condition worsened again, prompting doctors to place him back on ventilator support.
Currently, he is on spontaneous mode ventilator assistance,
and while his vital signs remain stable, doctors report no progress in his
neurological response. An MRI brain scan conducted on October 23 also failed to
show any clear signs of recovery.

✨Majumdar’s health journey began with initial treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack, where he was admitted for nearly a week. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where a dedicated team of specialists has been overseeing his care.
Known for his immense contribution to the Odia entertainment industry, Abhijit Majumdar has composed over 700 songs across modern albums, devotional tracks, Sambalpuri music, and Odia films and serials. He began his career with Sambalpuri music and gradually became a household name in Odia cinema.
Fans and well-wishers across the state continue to pray for
his recovery, as the music fraternity anxiously awaits positive news. AIIMS
officials have stated that efforts are ongoing to gradually wean him off ventilator
support, but his unconscious state persists.
