Bhubaneswar, July 19: BJP national president and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda Thursday said his party will give due respect to the verdict of the people of Odisha as they would see only development in the coming five years under a double-engine government.
"The BJP is committed to the development of Odisha," said Nadda.
Nadda was speaking at the two-day State Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) commenced in Puri on Friday.
Nadda said the Narendra Modi government had not stopped providing financial support to Odisha during the Naveen Patnaik government. Development will be accelerated in the State during the BJP regime, contended Nadda.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Ministers Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, BJP State president Manmohan Samal, party's regional in-charge Sunil Bansal, Odisha in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar were present, among others.
Nadda thanked the people of Odisha for voting the party to power in the state.

✨On the occasion, the BJP national president took a dig at the Congress raising the issues of corruption and 'Parivarbad' before 2014.
He slammed Congress for imposing an Emergency in 1975 and arresting 1.25 lakh people. "The Congress imposed the Emergency for its leader's interest. The Constitution was paralysed completely during the Emergency," said Nadda.
He asked party workers and leader to ask Naveen Babu (Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik) how his father Biju Babu was arrested and lodged in jail during the Emergency.
This executive committee meeting of the BJP assumes significance as it is being held for the first time after the party formed the government in Odisha, ending the 24-year rule of the Biju Janata Dal government.
