Sambalpur, Jan 27: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is set to dedicate the Maa Samalei project to devotees in Sambalpur in western Odisha today.

Preparations for the inaugural ceremony of the project have come to an end.

According to sources, CM Patnaik is scheduled to reach temple premises and will inaugurate the project at 12:50 PM.

Kalash yatra was performed yesterday as per rituals and Maha Janja will be performed today by the temple saints.

Darshan of deities for devotees will be hurdled from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Notably, the Odisha government has declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in the state to mark the occasion. January 27, being the second Saturday of the month, is a holiday for government offices and banks. 

A heritage corridor on approximately 40 acres around the original shrine has been developed and beautified to make it more convenient for devotees.

Security arrangements have been tightened as lakhs of devotees will throng Sambalpur. As many as 35 platoons of the police force have been deployed.
