Bijayani, the girl child who was rescued from a deep bore well in Sambalpur two weeks back, was discharged from the Veer Surendra Sai Medical College and Hospital (VIMSAR) and handed over to Sambalpur District Child Protection Unit today. 

Sambalpur, Jan 11: Bijayani, the girl child who was rescued from a deep bore well in Sambalpur two weeks back, was discharged from the Veer Surendra Sai Medical College and Hospital (VIMSAR) and handed over to Sambalpur District Child Protection Unit today. 

According to the medical authorities, the child is now healthy enough to lead a normal life. 

It may be noted that the child was rescued from an abandoned borewell at Laripali village under the Rengali area on December 12 last year after 9 hours and 40 minutes of efforts made by NDRF, ODRAF, and Fire personnel.
