Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: The Odisha government on Saturday entrusted Senior IPS Officer Arun Kumar Sarangi with the additional charge of Director General of Pollice (DGP) in addition to his present posting as Special DG of Police, Training and Director, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA).
A notification issued by the Home Department informed that Sarangi will continue in Additional Charge of the DGP until the regular DGP joins. Incumbent DGP Sunil Bansal will superannuate on December 31 i.e. tomorrow.
"Aurn Kumar Sarangi, a 1990-batch IPS officer, at present Special DG of Police, Training & Director, BPSPA, is allowed to remain in Additional Charge of DG of Police, Odisha, until the Regular DGP joins," read the Home Department notification.
