Pipili, Apr 22: In a remarkable incident, locals in Pipili in Puri district of Odisha were left startled upon discovering a massive 8-foot-long python caught in a fishing net in the Satasankha region of the Chilika River.
The unexpected sight created a wave of concern among villagers as they rushed to alert authorities for assistance.
Snake Helpline member Sushant Behera responded promptly to the call, showcasing his expertise in handling such situations. Behera skillfully rescued the python from the fishing net and ensured its safety.
According to reports, the python, which was otherwise healthy, will now be transported to the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar for medical examination and rehabilitation.
