Cuttack, Feb 16: A 7-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by some youths in Balisahi under Madhupatna police station limits here in Odisha on Thursday evening.

According to sources, the minor girl was riding a bicycle with her friend pillion behind in Balisahi area last evening. The girl sustained minor injuries after she lost control of her bicycle and fell on the road. Her friend however left the spot leaving her alone.

Finding the minor girl injured and alone, a group of youths reportedly approached the girl that they would take her to a nearby hospital for treatment. But, they allegedly took her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her, sources said.

Later, the victim narrated the incident to her family members. Subsequently, the family members lodged a complaint at Madhupatna police station in this connection.

The minor girl has been admitted to a hospital in the city. Her condition was stated to be stable. 

Police registered a case and started an investigation into the matter. No one was arrested in this connection till the report was filed.
