Bhubaneswar, Feb 15: In a major achievement, police seized 73 kg of ganja and arrested two persons from Bharatpur during raids on the city outskirts last night. 

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Bharatpur police led by its IIC intercepted a Bolero van at Tapoban Square and subsequently made the seizure and arrests. However, two others, who were in the van, managed to flee from the spot. 

The two arrested persons have been identified as Brushav Kanhar and Milu Digal of Kandhamal district. 

Police said the miscreants were transporting the contraband item from Kandhamal towards Cuttack. The cost of the seized ganja is estimated to be over Rs 7 lakh. 

The two others will be arrested soon, said the police.
